Nishan Forum on World Youth promotes common values for humanity

Based on the theme of "Young People Work Together to Carry Forward the Common Values for Humanity", the Nishan Forum on World Youth, a key event during the ninth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, was held in Qufu of Shandong province on Sept 26.
It attracted a host of experts and scholars who shared their insights, promoted cultural exchanges among different civilizations, and helped foster an a spirit of innovation.
Sha Zhili, deputy director and associate researcher of the Editorial and Research Center of Confucian Canon, stated that he has witnessed the growth of many young scholars during the compilation of the Confucian Canon project.
He called for more young people to cultivate new knowledge, validate their existing knowledge, and address the unknown by embracing Confucianism.

Xu Chuan, Party secretary, professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Marxism in Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, encouraged young people to become pioneers, achievers and contributors to exchanges and mutual learning among world civilizations.
During the roundtable dialogue, six young representatives from China and overseas initiated a dialogue focusing on the topic of "Uniting Youth Forces to Promote Cultural Inheritance and Development".
Jin Yeong-eun, a well-known short video blogger from South Korea, shared his real-life experiences in China and his understanding of Chinese culture.
Ling Xiao, a doctoral student from Egypt studying at Nankai University, who has witnessed and benefited from the Belt and Road Initiative, said he hopes that Chinese and Egyptian youths can work together, leveraging the power of culture to strengthen people-to-people connectivity and collaboration.
During the forum, the 2023 Academic Summary of the Nishan Forum on World Youth was released, and awards were granted to the winning representatives of the themed paper.
